I'm pleased to welcome new artist Blair Scott as the latest artist to take part in the local artist project to help showcase creative talent in Glasgow North. His work will be on display in the Firhill Road constituency office, for passers-by to admire until the end of September.
Blair Scott is a 27 year old abstract artist, originally from Glasgow’s Southside, now living in Partick. Since leaving university, as a Master of Architecture, he has been working in catering and retail, whilst considering his future. His true passion lies in graphic design and this is conveyed clearly through his distinct style.
Blair describes his work as: “A series of mixed media, original artworks highlighting scenes in Glasgow portrayed through various mix media techniques, which demonstrate a vision that lies somewhere between reality and full abstraction.”
I’m delighted that Blair Scott agreed to take part in the local artist project, and become our latest Glasgow talent to showcase his work. Blair’s ability to capture the spirit of a building or place, whilst also representing its true architectural form, gives his work a special quality. I especially appreciate his focus on iconic Glasgow North landmarks, like the Botanic gardens and the Underground Subway, which celebrate the beautiful structures surrounding us. I hope that people will stop by the office to enjoy his work, and that Blair will gain even more recognition as a truly unique creative talent in Glasgow.
Blair Scott’s artwork will be on display until the end of September, and anyone interested in purchasing his art can contact the artist directly for more information.
